DMCA Policy
SkipTheGames respects copyright and responds to valid takedown notices submitted under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). If you've landed here by mistake, you can head back to the homepage; otherwise, here's how to file.
Effective: April 28, 2026
1. About This Policy
SkipTheGames is a directory of user-submitted listings. We don't create the content displayed in those listings, and we don't have the means to vet the copyright status of every photo or piece of text posted. When a copyright holder tells us something on the site infringes their work, we act on it under the DMCA's notice-and-takedown procedure.
2. How to File a Takedown Notice
If you believe content on SkipTheGames infringes a copyright you own (or are authorized to act on behalf of), send us a written notice that includes all of the following — anything missing slows things down or invalidates the notice under federal law:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, if multiple works, a representative list).
- Identification of the material on SkipTheGames that you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it — the full URL of the listing, plus the specific photo or text in question.
- Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
3. Where to Send DMCA Notices
Email is the fastest channel. Send DMCA notices to:
dmca@skip-the-games.vercel.app
Notices are reviewed every business day. We aim to respond to valid notices within 48 hours. Please don't send DMCA correspondence to other addresses on the contact page — it just slows the process down.
4. What Happens After You File
If your notice is complete and appears valid on its face, we'll remove or disable access to the material in question and notify the user who posted it. The user is given the opportunity to file a counter-notification (described below). If they do, we may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless you've filed suit and notified us of that filing.
5. Counter-Notification
If you posted content that has been taken down and you believe the takedown was the result of a mistake or misidentification, you can submit a counter-notification under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). Your counter-notification must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location it appeared at before removal (the URL of the listing).
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your full name, address, and telephone number.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which SkipTheGames may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the original complainant or their agent.
Send counter-notifications to the same address: dmca@skip-the-games.vercel.app.
6. Repeat-Infringer Policy
SkipTheGames terminates the listings, posting privileges, and access of users who repeatedly post infringing content. "Repeatedly" means more than one substantiated infringement that resulted in a takedown. Termination decisions are at our sole discretion and are final.
7. Misrepresentation Warning
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing — or that material was removed by mistake — may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees, incurred by the alleged infringer or by the service provider. Don't file frivolous notices. We will not hesitate to forward malicious notices to the user who posted the content along with our own.
8. Modifications
We may update this policy as the law evolves or our practices change. The version posted here is always the current one, and the effective date at the top changes when something material has been updated.
9. Other Inquiries
For non-DMCA copyright questions or licensing requests, please use the contact page. For background on the service, see About SkipTheGames. To get back to browsing, return to the homepage.
This address (dmca@skip-the-games.vercel.app) is for copyright takedowns only. Reports of fake or harmful listings should go to abuse@skip-the-games.vercel.app. Personal disputes belong with local authorities, not us. Back to the homepage when you're ready.
