About the Site

What is SkipTheGames?

SkipTheGames is a free directory of casual hookup listings posted by adults across the United States. It's a place to skip the dating-app runaround and meet locals who already know what they want. We don't run a chat layer or take signups. Once you find a listing you like, you reach out using whatever contact method the poster shared.

Is it really free?

Yes. There are no premium tiers, no subscriptions, no ads behind a paywall, and no fees of any kind. We don't take payment for listings, contact info, or "verified" badges. If anyone on the site asks you to pay for access to anything, that's a scam — report it via the report-abuse page.

Do I need an account?

No. You can browse the entire site without registering. There's no email field, no profile to fill out, and no app to download. We've intentionally kept it to a simple browse-and-message structure. The only thing you might see is an age confirmation banner on first visit.

Browsing & Listings

How do I find listings in my city?

Click "Hookups" in the top nav, or go directly to the city directory. From there, pick your city, browse what's posted, and click any listing for the full profile.

What cities do you cover?

Every state and several hundred cities across the US. The major metros like NYC, LA, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Miami, and Las Vegas are the busiest, but smaller cities also have active boards. The directory page shows the full alphabetized list with a search box.

How fresh are the listings?

Listings are sorted by recency, with the newest at the top of every city page. Most cities see new ads dropping every few minutes during the evening. If a listing is more than a few hours old, the poster may not be online anymore — refresh the page to see who's currently active.

Are the listings real?

They're posted by real people, but SkipTheGames doesn't verify identities or run background checks. Apply the same standard you'd use for any classified ad: assume the basics are real, ask the right questions before meeting, and trust your gut. Our safety guidelines have a full breakdown of how to verify before you commit to a meet.

How can I tell if a listing is fake?

Common red flags: photos that look like stock images or magazine shots, copy that's too polished, profiles that respond to anything you say with the same scripted message, anyone who pushes for payment up front, anyone who refuses a 30-second video call, or anyone whose details mysteriously align with your exact preferences.

The strongest filter is a quick video call before you commit. Most legit posters will do it. Most scammers will refuse.

Why isn't there a built-in messaging system?

A built-in messaging system would mean we'd have to read your messages to moderate them, store them, and deal with their legal implications. We chose not to do any of that. You and the poster handle communication directly using whatever contact method they listed (a text number, a different app, etc.). It's simpler, more private, and stays out of the way.

Safety & Trust

Is this site safe to use?

Browsing the site is as safe as browsing any website. The risks are with the people you meet through it, not with the site itself. Our safety guidelines cover the practical things to do before, during, and after a meetup. Read them once before your first meet and you'll be ahead of most users.

What's the most common scam I should watch for?

Anything involving money before you've met. Every variant of "I need a deposit," "send me an Uber gift card," "use this verification site to confirm you're not a scammer" is a scam. If money comes up before you've met in person — walk away. No exceptions. The safety guidelines page has a longer list of patterns to recognize.

What if I get scammed or harassed?

For scams, report the listing to abuse@skip-the-games.vercel.app with the URL and any details. We'll remove the listing and ban the poster.

For threats, harassment, or stalking, contact local law enforcement first — they can act on those in ways we can't. For sexual assault, RAINN (1-800-656-HOPE) is the right first call. We can pull listings and ban users, but we cannot intervene in person.

Privacy & Data

What data do you collect about me?

Server logs (IP, user-agent, page URLs, timestamps), functional cookies, and anonymized analytics. We don't collect emails, names, or anything personally identifying. Logs are deleted after 30 days. The privacy policy has the full details.

Can I delete my data?

Email privacy@skip-the-games.vercel.app and we'll delete any logs associated with your IP address. You can also clear cookies in your browser at any time. Since there's no account, there's nothing else to delete.

Eligibility & Legal

How old do I have to be?

Eighteen, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater. The site contains adult-themed content and isn't appropriate for minors.

Is this legal?

Browsing a directory of personal ads is legal everywhere in the US. What's posted in those ads, and what people do after meeting through them, is between the people involved and any applicable laws. We don't permit listings that solicit illegal activity, and we remove and report anything that does.

I think I see someone I know on a listing. What do I do?

Nothing, ideally. People come to SkipTheGames for casual encounters and they'd usually rather not be recognized. Don't share what you've seen with mutual friends or anyone else — that's the kind of move that ends friendships.

If the listing appears to be using their photos without consent (impersonation), that's a different matter. They should report it via abuse@skip-the-games.vercel.app, or you can do it on their behalf if they don't know about it.

Contact & Other

How do I get in touch with the team?

The contact page has email addresses for every type of inquiry — general questions, technical support, abuse reports, DMCA takedowns, press, and legal correspondence. There's no contact form and no chat widget. Plain email is the only way in, but we read it.

What if my question isn't answered here?

Email hello@skip-the-games.vercel.app and we'll get back to you within a couple business days. Genuinely common questions get added to this page over time.
